Recently, the First session of the 14th National People's Congress and the First session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference opened in Beijing. Food is a common concern of the whole society. In the Committee, some suggestions and opinions of representatives and members on foods have attracted much attention.

Strengthen the food system to ensure people's nutrition and health

It is suggested to establish the food nutrition and health standard system on the basis of strengthening the food safety standard system, to lead and standardize the nutrition and health transformation and high-quality development of the food industry. Further strengthen food education, improve the regulation system on children's nutrition, and strengthen nutrition intervention, so as to better protect the nutritional health of children and adolescents.

Further strengthen scientific research and innovation throughout the industrial chain and promote high-quality development of the dairy industry

It is suggested to enhance the training of high-level professional and technical personnel in the dairy industry, support enterprises to strengthen cooperation with universities, research institutions and key laboratories, and increase assistance and support in key links in the development of the dairy industry, such as dairy cattle breeding and grass planting, so as to promote high-quality development of the dairy industry. Encourage enterprises to increase investment in energy conservation and emission reduction, manure management, low-carbon products and low-carbon industrial chain, to build sustainable dairy industry.

Deepen the scientific research on probiotics and promote the formulation of standards and regulations for probiotics

It is suggested to strengthen the research on the efficacy of probiotics and the technical bottleneck of industrialization, and consolidate the scientific foundation of the development of probiotics industry. Define the classification of probiotics related products and establish the national standard for probiotics. Continue to carry out extensive science education on probiotics based on scientific consensus. Improve regulations and standards, optimize the review and approval process, and increase support for scientific and technological innovation to enhance industrial competitiveness.

Strengthen the management system of food claims to help China's food industry healthily transform

It is suggested to construct a scientific and perfect food claim system from the top design; promote raw material or ingredient function claim management by multi-party efforts; enhance consumer awareness based on scientific consensus on functional components or ingredients and promote the industrial application of research results.
