On August 24, the Japanese government, ignoring the strong doubts and opposition of the international community, unilaterally and forcibly started the discharge of water contaminated by the Fukushima nuclear accident. Subsequently, the General Administration of China Customs released an announcement on the complete suspension of imports of aquatic products from Japan. From August 25, the State Administration for Market Regulation will increase the supervision of aquatic products food safety, and strictly prohibit food manufacturers and operators to purchase, use, process, prepare or sell aquatic products whose place of origin is Japan.
