Analysis of Food Safety Supervision Sampling Inspection in 2023

In 2023, the national market supervision departments completed 6,997,389 batches of food safety supervision and sampling inspection according to related national food safety standards. Among them, 190,872 batches of unqualified samplings were found, and the unqualified rate was 2.73%, with a decrease of 0.13% compared with that in 2022.

Analysis of Unqualified Food Categories

The supervision sampling unqualified rate of processed grain, edible oil and fat and its products, meat products, egg products and dairy products with large consumption was 0.52%, 0.80%, 0.81%, 0.14% and 0.13%, respectively, which were all lower than the overall unqualified rate. Compared with last year, the unqualified rates of 25 categories of foods such as catering food and biscuits have reduced, while that of 8 categories of foods such as vegetable products and condiments have increased.

Analysis of Unqualified Reasons

Some unqualified items accounted for the total amount of unqualified samples: pesticide residue exceeding standards 37.66%, microbial contamination 18.81%, organic contamination 11.01%, veterinary drug residue exceeding standards 7.90%, heavy metal contamination 5.85% and substandard quality indicators 4.60%.

For the unqualified foods found in the supervision and sampling inspection, the market supervision departments have released the results to the public, and taken measures in a timely manner in accordance with relevant regulations to strictly control food safety risks.
